Project
Lite-Weight – 1983 Mustang Coupe (Notchback)

This
current project belongs to Mike Mac of the Mike's Mustangs Racing
Team. This car will eventually be run at the localized Mustang
events as well as the NMRA Open Comp Class at Maple Grove's Ford
Motorsport Nationals and ATCOT.
The
initial emphasis on this car will be concentrating on the chassis
preparation and the advantages and/or disadvantages of a light-weight race
car.

The
drivetrain of this car is basically a combination of already track-tested
parts as well as some new untested parts. This motor has already seen some
limited track duty in a fuel injected 1986 Mustang GT. The package was
topped off with 24 LB injectors, Pro-M 75MM bullet mass air, Frankie Ford
Ported GT40 Lower Intake and Extrude honed Cobra Upper Intake Plenum.
Best
quarter mile times were in the 12.60s
with about 108 MPH.
